Why I Focus on Work Ethic | Business Squared Keynote

Hustle and hard work are just practical. It wouldn’t be reasonable by any standard for me to tell everyone to just get smarter… To the contrary, anyone can decide to start working harder and to start using their time more effectively.

  1. If your mind isn't right, it doesn't matter how you execute.

  2. What is the ROI of a piano? For Gary Vee, nothing… For Elton John a billion dollars. Know your strengths.

  11. Hey Gary,
I would appreciate a response to this question. Whether you want to do a video about it or just reply here, I am okay with either one.
So, I know that being great requires developing a great work ethic which involves hours of practice and learning. My question is: How do you recommend balancing the hours it takes to build a great work ethic with everything else on a person's schedule?

  21. Thank you for this talk Gary. 2 very important points on this gem of a talk:

    1. at 21:01 for 5 minutes the basic reason why we are in the Facebook era

    2. at 42:00 for 1.34 minutes talking about hiring and firing and the cancerous individuals within an organisation

This video was just sent to 3 important people in my company. Hope they watch. If not the company and all of us, will lose in the longterm.

    The After School Hustle

I'm Starting a Youtube Series called "The After School Hustle". I'm at a crossroads where I graduated college a 2 years ago and I'm not really sure what I want to do. I want to start my own business of some sort but I'm not really sure what it will be yet. So if you watch it and like it cool, if you watch it and hate it even better. Please give feedback if possible!

  32. Do you know people like garyvee? I want to listen more people with this mindset!

  33. Yo why was I the only laughing @ 36:57 "…everyone." LOL I love your keynotes Gary. I'm running facebook ads successfully myself @J.G Paradox. Knowing this was available years ago if i had the discipline that i have now. I would of been had over thousands of new followers and selling more art online. However, like you said. It's not merely about knowing the facts. You have to get your head game right. Mines wasn't, but I'm getting there now. I started going hard in march and in just a month 200 more followers+. I imagine when I continue to play my cards right and see what people respond to more. Those numbers should increase from 50 followers a week to maybe even 100 (stats from this week alone). I haven't really understood Instagram though. I think its because people interact with it differently compared to Facebook. @jaygparadox –I want to be where I need to be though, before those prices start going up as you warned. I seriously believe you on the note. People start fan pages everyday. Abandon them, but never invest their money. I have come to learn that if you're serious about something you must invest your soul into it (at least put your money where your mouth is and play the part of the already successful business).Crazy part is… I'm only spending less than 100 dollars a month at this moment. I plan to increase once I release a new collection of work. I think people don't take you serious gary about advertising because you haven't told (maybe–might of missed it) that even Mcdonalds and pepsi spends BILLIONS on advertising every year and they already made it. If you're a business and you're not fishing every moment with ads up 24/7… you're bugging. It does become a thing of arrogance.

  34. 3 pages of notes. One of the most useful things I've listened to in years! Great advice and fired off my imagination so many times that it was hard to keep up.

  35. I've seen so many people give away free content on YouTube and free How To videos and those are the people I've noticed have the largest audience and the most attention.

  36. Well, she just responded to Gary saying, "Alexa, reorder my toothpaste" when I was listening to this. She asked what kind? HOW CRAZYYYYY

  37. Gary is no bullshit! this is how big of a deal Facebook ads are: my wife and i have a small antiques store, in a flea market no less, only open on Friday-sunday…very small time. once we started placing on Facebook marketplace our foot traffic increased by about 40% lots of likes, views and response to our posts! and that's without posting daily, only "boosting" posts occasionally, and a slow build of our platform…keep in mind we're talking about antiques nothing super special to most people. what do you think social media can do for you if it's doing that much for us at MCbasementfinds@facebook.com? as for branding: that's the second part of this, we are branding ourselves not as sellers of antiques and vintage items, but rather as the purveyors of childhood memories. the "stuff" is just a vehicle to get you there! GaryVee helped us to figure that part out, thank you Gary!

  38. It is golden shit. Let's work

  39. Thank you for your advice, Gary! Our company is now creating our brand and going all in on social media marketing!

  40. When we will realise what he said in 2 years it will be too late. I hope to put in the right amount of effort before it is too late.
