2 Core Things You Need to Stop Second-Guessing Yourself

On an episode of “Tea With GaryVee” a caller had the question about how he can stop second-guessing and doubting his artwork. Gary breaks it down into a mentality shift and the overvaluing of other people’s judgment. The two things it ultimately comes down to are humility and self-confidence. Once you have those in balance, you will be able to share your work freely without the worry of the result.

  2. It’s a ghost of insecurity. Damn.

  3. Yeah 2 best bits "Find a way to hit enter and walk away" And "There's audacity in YOU thinking its wrong or right (for the consumer)"

  4. great one, as an artist myself was really nice to watch

  5. get out of your head!! I just realized everything we create is subjective so we shouldn’t force anything upon our art!

  6. The way Garry picks apart our mindset and slaps some sense into everyone is so inspiring! – I'm over here hustling like a dog on YouTube and it's all about keeping up the grind and keeping your mind on track! 💪

  7. I really like how you stressed that it’s ok for us to critique others, but not ourselves. It’s fair to say that we all sell ourselves short

  8. Thanks Gary. You never stop learning with you.

  9. “… and I’ll buy it” Legend!

  10. #digitalbrothers #garysclues if you listen. And active on social media he will tell the way. He talk's about me blasting content across 7/websites and I know he knows about all the new sites. @Garyvee I'm ready to tranfer my block chain loot please and then on to the next

  11. thank you for shaking those late night thoughts out of my head. much love, gary

  12. This is amazing! I am also an artist. I needed to hear that. Thanks Gary Vee!

  13. 😬 the fall off is real

  14. The best compliment I think I've ever received, "You're like a mini Gary Vee with all the YouTube videos you put out."

  15. The fear of other peoples feedback is no joke! The best way to get over it is keep posting so youre used to feedback, focus on the positives, and pay attention to what gets good feedback

  16. Not being humble and confident about your stuff just reflects you are in a childish perspective were everybody must "love" what you do for you to feel you are enough. Been realizing that lately, must of us are just stuck in our own way but don´t accept it cause or need to be accepted overshadows our genuis. Thanks Gary.

  17. Second-guessing is something that I live with every day, and it always gets the better of me and stops me from doing what I want to do.

  18. Awesome advice Gary! I had similar issues on self-confidence on my video creations too, but I discovered through the process of creative work I am so immersed in it there is no room for fear or anxiety in mind. Focus on your work and those feelings will go away! 👍 and fuck the people who don’t appreciate it believe in yourself just do it!

  19. Stop watching YouTube videos and go do!

  20. Man… I got over doubting myself after years of doing it. Now Im pretty happy with my abilities. But I know that I need others to help me realise the vision. Problem is that if I flex (which took years of practice to perfect) I'm treated like I shouldn't have the audacity to be that way, even though Im prepared to do all the heavy lifting and teach along the way. How do you find collaborators that aren't afraid to be bold and vulnerable simultaneously?

  21. " find a way to hit enter and go away " damn that hit me hard

  22. I like the actionable advice in the beginning. I would like just separate clips of the quick, actionable advice, without the follow up, so that way its easier to set down the phone and go do it.

  23. Thank you Gary. To be honest, some of us do still need repetitive reminders of these core key elements that may fade from time to time. 👏👍

  24. Garry the man you have very interesting motivational talks

  25. So ready to be on Tee with Gary vee with youngsters tomorrow if I get picked!!
